it's just a poem
that's all it is, really
it's just a piece of writing
full of touchy-feely
crap that can make people
cry.
i'm like you in a sense that
i don't like all this
'express yourself
stuff.
it bothers me. i feel like
an open book, just
waiting to have one
of it's pages
ripped
out.
an open head
waiting to be operated
on by an
unexperienced
doctor.
i'm told i have a gift
for writing. everybody
says 'go, go! keep writing!'
and 'your good. keep writing.' and
'express yourself'
there it is again.
those words.
claning in my mind.
rocking back and fourth
in my head like an
autistic kid with his knees
curled up to his chest just
rocking
backandforuthbackandfourthbackandfourth
like a pendulum. . . . . . . .
there, are you happy now?
i 'expressed myself'
but it's just a poem,
that's all it is.
really.
simple as that.
